Position Summary:

Clover Garden School is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Middle School English Language Arts Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will foster a love of reading and writing, build students’ literacy and critical thinking skills, and contribute positively to our school culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with North Carolina ELA standards for grades 6–8.
  • Teach reading, writing, grammar, speaking, and listening with a focus on critical analysis and communication.
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies and assessments to support diverse learning styles and academic levels.
  • Create a supportive and respectful classroom culture that encourages student participation and growth.
  • Integrate technology to enhance instruction and student engagement.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback and interventions as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues to support student success.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school-wide events.
  • Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Clover Garden School in all professional endeavors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (required).
  • Valid North Carolina teaching license in Middle Grades English Language Arts or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Experience teaching middle school ELA (preferred).
  • Strong classroom management and instructional skills.
  • Dedication to continuous learning and student-centered teaching.
