Director of Business and Operations

The Expedition School is seeking a dynamic Director of Business & Operations to join our leadership team and help drive the operational, financial, and facility success of our mission-driven charter school.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee finance, payroll, and audits. Lead budgeting.
• Manage day-to-day operations, safety protocols, and compliance
• Lead campus aesthetics, vendor relationships, and facility upkeep
• Lead enrollment, marketing, and outreach efforts
• Collaborate closely with the Director of Education and Board of Directors
• Support staff morale and school culture initiatives
• Lead transportation and food service systems
• Lead emergency and operational systems
• Create and refine operational systems that directly support instructional success and a thriving, safe school culture

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Strong background in operations, finance, and systems management
• Deep understanding of how great school systems and operations empower strong school culture, teaching and learning
• Leadership experience in schools or nonprofits preferred
• Ability to manage large budgets, compliance, and cross-functional teams
• Spreadsheet proficiency and operational system design experience a must
• Familiarity with charter school structures and state/federal education requirements a plus
