Endeavor Charter School is seeking a full-time Elementary School Guidance Counselor. If you are passionate about the importance of school counseling and eager to continue developing a healthy school culture, we are looking for you!  The candidate should be highly qualified and licensed in NC for school guidance.  Duties will include the following:

  • teaching small and large groups by actively engaging students in the learning process 
  • supporting individuals and small groups using appropriate counseling theories and techniques in response to student needs
  • working with the MTSS team to support students with SEL concerns
  • working with the School Culture Committee to plan special events supporting students and/or staff in topics such as: mental health, stress management, cultural awareness, inclusivity, etc.
  • developing processes and procedures for planning, implementing, and evaluating a developmental guidance program
  • implementing effective referral procedures
  • advocating for a school environment in which differences are acknowledged and respected, resulting in positive interactions across cultures
  • understanding learner differences, including those related to cultural background, gender, ethnicity, and learning styles, and working to create and maintain a positive school environment that is responsive to all learners
  • demonstrating effective communication through oral, written, and nonverbal expression
  • striving toward the highest level of professionalism by adhering to and modeling professional, ethical, and legal standards
  • some carpool duty

The ideal candidate will:

  • hold current school counselor or social worker licensure in North Carolina
  • have experience as a counselor in an elementary school setting
  • be comfortable working with students one to one, in small groups, in class groups, and in large group assemblies
  • be comfortable working with about presenting content to staff and families
  • be able to contribute to the vision of a growing counseling program
