Upper School Part-Time Teaching Assistant

The Expedition School is seeking a part-time teaching assistant to work with all grade 5-8 classrooms and Special area teachers. This position will work with all eight of our Upper School teachers and their students, and assist some special area teachers. The teaching assistant will perform tasks that may include, but are not limited to:

• Photocopying
• Working with small groups of students or one-on-one with a student
• Supervising the transition of students to and from classes
• Organizing learning materials
• Covering a class in the event a teacher needs to step out
• Grading assignments and other student materials
• Supervising students during testing
• Supervising students during i-ready work and helping students set goals
• Hanging up artwork or bulletin boards

Requirements:

• Very Flexible, quick learner who is able to take directions as well as self-start necessary tasks that help improve student learning, classroom environment and classroom teacher efficiency

• Must be able to lift 30 pound boxes and be able to bend, stand and move throughout campus. We have a multi-level campus including gravel, grass and cement.

STUDENT DAYS M, T, Th, F , 8:15am - 2:30pm, early release W 8:00am - 12:00pm, full-day W 8:00am - 2:30pm, according to the 2024-25 TES calendar.
