Middle School Social Studies Teacher (Long Term Sub)

A highly qualified candidate will:

• Have a Bachelor’s/Master's degree in Education or Bachelors/Masters in Social Studies or related area
• Current NC Teacher Certification, preferred
• Know where to reference the NC standards for social studies
• Be familiar or be willing to learn standards based grading
• Be familiar with Google Classroom or willing to learn
• Have a Growth Mindset, flexible and willing to grow
• Be proficient with ways to assist special needs students, including students on the spectrum
• Work to achieve school philosophy and policies, including using project based learning
• Be able and willing to collaborate with other staff
• Utilize effective classroom management techniques
• Communicate regularly and effectively with parents
• Support 7th and 8th grade transition meetings, IEP meetings, and high-school course sign-up

Start Date: December 16th, 2024 (unpaid vacation Dec 23-Jan 3) and restart Jan 6th, 2025

End Date: May 2, 2025
