Exceptional Children's Teaching Assistant

Endeavor Charter School is seeking a part-time Exceptional Children Teaching Assistant. The Exceptional Children Teaching Assistant will work closely with classroom teachers and EC teachers to support the educational and developmental needs of students with exceptionalities within and outside of the general education setting. Your responsibilities will include providing instructional support, providing behavioral support, supporting classroom activities, and fostering a positive learning environment conducive to the growth and development of elementary school children.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• collaborating with the classroom teacher and the Exceptional Children’s teacher to support learning
• supervising students to ensure safety and appropriate behavior
• implementing instructional and/or behavioral plans
• helping the classroom teacher maintain a clean and organized environment
• participating in classroom, grade-level, and school-wide events and experiences
• performing other duties as needed, including carpool

 Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

• Strong knowledge of literacy and mathematics 
• Efficient organizational skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Effective interpersonal skills 
• Classroom management

Given the job expectations, preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching in an elementary school, particularly those with experience in Exceptional Children or in related fields such as occupational therapy, speech-language, etc.
