Assistant Principal

Alamance Community School is searching for an Assistant Principal who would be responsible for assisting the school principal in the leadership, coordination, supervision, and management of the school’s programs and operations. The Assistant Principal reports to the Principal and is the first line of assistance pertaining to student disciplinary issues and providing faculty and student support. 

Key Responsibilities: 

The Assistant Principal assists:

  • in the development and establishing of the school’s goals and objectives and the planning of the school’s instructional program.
  • to provide direction to staff in implementing goals and objectives and interacts and meets with staff to assist in their development.
  • in the evaluation of school operations and programs and helps initiate improvements, as needed. 
  • in formal and informal staff observations and evaluations
  • in the preparation and management of schedules and in the coordination and implementation of school programs.
  • to define and disseminate information about school discipline policy and procedures to parents, students, staff, and community.
  • in communicating and carrying out established policies, delegates and accepts responsibility for completion of tasks and communicates program goals, objectives, and policies to the community.
  • in supervising the upkeep and maintenance of the school facilities and grounds.
  • in promoting and maintaining open communications and positive student attitudes
  • in promoting staff and student respect, dignity, and ensuring compliance with established lines of authority.
  • in completion of records and reports and in the supervision and inventory of necessary supplies, textbooks, equipment, and materials.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:

  • Master’s degree in education or related field
  • Licensed or eligible to be licensed in K - 12 Administration and Supervision 
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years teaching experience 
  • Previously served as an Assistant Principal or Principal Intern
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to motivate people
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Exhibits a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills that relates well with students, staff , parents, and the community
  • Appreciates and practices collaboration 
  • Understands and values the importance of the school’s mission and curriculum

Compensation: 

We offer a competitive salary based on the NC State Assistant Principal Salary Schedule plus a supplement, in addition to a comprehensive benefits package including State Retirement & State Health/Medical Benefits.
